Consultation, or brief psychological work can be helpful in identifying, managing and changing relatively common and straightforward psychological issues around fertility, pregnancy, loss, birth and parenthood.

Where medium or longer term psychological therapy is not indicated, this brief consultation model (usually 4-6 50-minute sessions) involves talking with an experienced psychologist about your present issues, and how they might relate to your previous experiences, as well as what resources you have around you now. Short-term, realistic goals are identified together and worked towards to help you feel confident to overcome the difficulty which brought you to Bloom, or to adapt to changes in your life which have proved difficult.

With your permission, Bloom can liaise with other healthcare providers if this is helpful. Good communication and understanding with health providers is often key to improving your experience of the care you’re receiving.
